Shadow Dancing is a 1978 song by Andy Gibb written by him, Barry , Robin, and Maurice Gibb . It appeared on the album of the same name.

history

While working on the film Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band , the Bee Gees wrote the song with Andy Gibb. "And one night," Andy Gibb recalled in an interview, "we all got together while we relaxed and had to start putting tracks together for the new album. So we sat down and in literally ten minutes we had a group doing the choir part sang. As it says under the song, we had written all the songs in the album, the four of us ".

The release was on April 14, 1978, in the United States, Canada and Brazil the disco number became a number one hit. The Recording Industry Association of America awarded the song a platinum record .

In July of that year, Gibb was playing Shadow Dancing at Jai-Alai Fronton Studios in Miami when the Bee Gees unexpectedly came up to him and sang the song with him on stage. It was the first time that all four brothers sang the hit live.

The song could be heard in the episode Horny for Miss Ellen from South Park .
