Shafik Bhuchu Batambuze (born June 14, 1994 in Jinja ) is a Ugandan football player.
Career
In the club
Batambuze started his career with Gomba FC as part of the Masaza Cup. He then went to his father's former club Simba FC . He then moved to Muhoroni Youth FC in Kenya in spring 2012, before returning to Uganda six months later to sign with Villa SC . On January 28, 2013, he returned to Kenya and signed with Western Stima FC . After a year and a half at Western Stima, he announced his move to Sofapaka FC .
National team
Batambuze was appointed to the Ugandan national soccer team for the first time in May 2013 .
Personal
Shafik is the son of the former Ugandan national player Iddi Batambuze , who is one of the most famous national players in Uganda. Iddi made a name for himself especially in Asia, where he played successfully in Vietnam ( Ðà Nẵng FC ) and Bangladesh ( Arambagh Krira Sangha ).
