Iddi Batambuze (born November 12, 1972 in Kampala ) is a former Ugandan soccer player who played most of his career in Asia (Vietnam and Bangladesh).

Career

society

Batambuze started his professional career at Villa SC . At Villa SC in 2001 he was the top scorer of the Ugandan Super League . Following this successful season, Batambuze left Uganda in November 2001 and moved to Vietnam . There he initially played for Sông Lam Nghệ An before signing for Đà Nẵng FC a year later . In the winter of 2003 he returned to Uganda and signed with Ggaba United. Batambuze played for Ggaba for a year and a half before returning to Villa SC in October 2005. After six months at Villa SC, he moved to Bangladesh in the summer of 2006 to join the Arambagh Krira Sangha in Dhaka . After the 2007/08 season he moved to league rivals Brothers Union . Half a year later, he went from Brothers Union to Narayanganj Suktara Sangsad, where he ended his career in winter 2010.

National team

Batambuze made his debut in 1993 as part of the qualification for the African Cup of Nations 1994 in Tunisia . He then ran for the Ugandan national football team until 1999 .

Personal

His son Shafik Batambuze currently plays in the Ugandan national soccer team and in the Kenyan Premier League .
