Robert Rebitsch

Robert Franz Rebitsch (* 1968 in Brixlegg ) is an Austrian historian . Since 1998 he has been a lecturer at the Institute for History and European Ethnology at the University of Innsbruck and the author of numerous publications.

Life

Rebitsch passed the Matura in 1987 at the Bundesoberstufenrealgymnasium in Schwaz . As a one-year volunteer , he served in the Austrian Armed Forces from 1987 to 1988 and later, from 1989 to 1992, as a regular soldier . This was followed by studies of history and philosophy / pedagogy / psychology at the University of Innsbruck, which he completed in 1996 with a Magister phil. could complete. From 1997 to 1998 graduated Rebitsch a teaching practice in history and psychology / philosophy, in 2000 received his doctorate he became Dr. phil. with the dissertation on Tyrol, Charles V and the prince uprising of 1552.

In 2002 Rebitsch received the Theodor Körner Prize . He is a scientific member of the editorial team of Innsbruck Historical Studies and has been working in the projekt.service.büro of the University of Innsbruck since 2005. In 2008 he received his habilitation with the venia docendi for modern history. His main research interests include the conflict, military, cultural and political history of the 16th and 17th centuries, as well as biographies from this period. Rebitsch is the author, editor and reviewer of over 50 specialist publications.
