Remarks

  1. The year of Maharaj's birth is unclear, often 1910 or 1912 is given. In view of the fact that he took part in the All India Music Conference in Lucknow as a professional dancer as early as 1926 and that the Kathak Kendra Institute celebrated its 100th birthday in 2004, the year of birth 1904 seems more plausible.
