Shatter Messiah is an American power and thrash metal band from Akron , Ohio that was formed in 2005.

history

The band was founded in spring 2005 by guitarist Curran Murphy, who previously worked for Nevermore and Annihilator . After a long search, singer Greg "Wags" Wagner ( Breaker , Ex- Archetype ) joined the line-up, followed a short time later by drummer Robert Falzano, who had previously worked for Annihilator. At the same time, Bassisz Ron Boisvert joined the band. Dusty Hold completed the line-up as the second guitarist.

In May the band recorded the EP Your Gods Demise . Her first live performance followed in August 2005 in Ohio. Shortly thereafter, the band reached a contract with Dockyard 1 and went into the studio to record their debut album Never to Play the Servant, which was released in Europe in 2006 . This was followed by a tour of the USA together with Lies Within before bassist Boisvert left the band and was replaced by Jason Chamberlain, initially only as a session member. This was followed by appearances with Sanctity , Into Eternity , Beyond Fear , as well as a tour in June 2007 with To / Die / For in June 2007. Before that, the debut album was also released in June in the US on DCA Recordings . After Chamberlain joined the cast as a permanent member, recordings began on the next album, God Burns Like Flesh , which was released in Europe in late October 2007.

style

The band plays a mixture of power metal and modern thrash metal, with the music sonically being described as a mixture of the previous bands by Murphy Nevermore and Annihilator.
