She-Fox

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

She-Fox (outside the German-speaking area Vixen ) is a jump 'n' run with action game elements that was brought to market by Martech Games in 1988. It was released for the home computers Amiga , Amstrad CPC , Atari ST , C64 , the Sinclair ZX Spectrum and for the MS-DOS operating system .

story

The female main character named Vixen (English for vixen ) is one of the last living humanoids on the planet Granath. She is an orphan and was raised by foxes (hence her name). Equipped with a magical whip and the ability to transform into a vixen, she tries to defend her home from reptiles .

Gameplay

The game is a classic jump 'n' run, which is displayed in 2D , also called a side scroller .

At the beginning of the game, the player has ten lives; if they come into contact with the enemy or fall into an abyss or into water, they lose one attempt. It is also important to cross the levels within a certain time limit. During a level you can collect golden balls that are credited as Fox-Time on the Vix-O-Meter . If you have filled the bar at the end of a game section, you get to the Fox level , a bonus level. On the fox level, the protagonist mutates into a fox and can now collect bonus points. For example, if you fall into the abyss at the bonus level, you don't lose any life. During the bonus level, the Vix-O-Meter empties again and thus serves as a time limit.

There is no real aim of the game. The game continues until you have lost all lives.

Reviews

The title received below-average to good ratings.

Others

The game was renamed for the German market because the English title Vixen is similar to the German word wichsen , colloquially for masturbation . Model Corinne Russell was featured on the cover of the game packaging.
