Sheba Deireragea

Sheba Deireragea (born May 28, 1986 in Denigomodu ) is a Nauruan weightlifter . She currently competes in the 75 kilo class. She is considered one of the greatest sports talents in the island state of Nauru.

Deireragea achieved her first international success at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester in 2002 , when she won all three bronze medals in the 69 kilo class. In May 2005 Deireragea won at the Arafura Games 2005 in Darwin ( Australia ) in their current weight class each the gold medal in the juniors and seniors.

Deireragea also took part in the weightlifting world championships for the first time in November 2005 in Doha ( Qatar ) , as the only Nauru woman alongside Yukio Peter ; she finished 14th overall. At the Commonwealth Games 2006 she won the silver medal just behind the Australian Deborah Lovely .
