The South Santiam River is a river in western Oregon . Along with the North Santiam River , it is one of the two main tributaries of the Santiam River . It is approximately 97 kilometers long and has its source in the Cascade Range near Corvallis . At Cascadia (Oregon) it is dammed and thus forms the Foster Reservoir . Shortly before the damming, it joins the Middle Santiam River .
