Yukio Peter
Yukio Peter (born January 29, 1984 in Aiwo ) is a Nauruan weightlifter .
He won the title in the category 69 kg in the juniors - Ozeanienmeisterschaften 2004 in Niue .
Peter was one of three Nauruan participants in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens and was also the flag bearer at the opening ceremony. In the weightlifting category up to 69 kg, Peter took 8th place, with which he won an Olympic diploma . A muscle cramp prevented a better classification.
At the 2005 World Championships in Doha, Yukio Peter sensationally won the silver medal in the snatch category up to 77 kg. In the Olympic duel, he took 4th place. In 2010 he won the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games .
