Sheikh Razzak Ali ( Bengali রাজ্জাক আলী , born August 28, 1928 in Hitampur, British India ; † June 7, 2015 in Khulna , Bangladesh ) was a politician, deputy minister of justice, deputy parliamentary speaker and two-time parliamentary speaker in Jatiyo Sangshad, Bangladesh.

Life

Razzak Ali was born in Hitampur village in Upazila Paikgachha in Khulna district in 1928 and received an MA in economics from Dhaka University in 1952 and an MA in Bengali literature from the same university. He earned his Bachelor of Laws in 1954 . Razzak Ali was an active participant in the language movement in 1952, in the uprising after the parliamentary elections in 1969, in the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971 and in the resistance movement against the military regime of General Ershad between 1982 and 1990.

Career

At the beginning of his professional career, Razzak Ali worked between 1949 and 1950 as a teacher at the RBKB school in the village of Raruli in the Khulna district. He then worked as a journalist and worked as a reporter for the Pakistan Observer and as a business journalist for the Weekly Pakistan Post .
