The Sheppard Point is a promontory at the northeastern end of the Antarctic Peninsula . It marks the north side of the entrance from Antarctic Sound to Hope Bay .
It was discovered by Johan Gunnar Andersson (1874-1960), deputy leader of the Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1901-1903), who wintered with a team in 1903 at Hope Bay. The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey named them after Robert Carl Sheppard (1897-1954), head of the scientific station of the survey in Hope Bay.
