Eponym Taras Shevchenko

Shevchenko is an impact crater on the planet Mercury with a diameter of 000000000000143.3300000000143.33 km.

The crater was named by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) in 1976 after the Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko (1814–1861). It is located in the south of the planet in the Solitudo Hermae Trismegisti - albedo formation .
