The Shield Lake ( English for Schild see ) is a lake on the Ingrid Christensen coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth Land . It is located on the Breidnes Peninsula in the Vestfold Mountains immediately south of Ekho Lake .
The lake is part of a series of lakes in the Vestfoldbergen that at the Davis Station housed biologists as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions studied in 1974th The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named it descriptively for its shape in 1975.
