The Shield Nunatak (English for Schild-Nunatak ) is a distinctive nunatak in the form of a group of several volcanic cones on the Scott coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . On the north shore of Terra Nova Bay, it rises on the eastern flank of the mouth of the Campbell Glacier .
Scientists of 1965 to 1966 carried out the campaign as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition him named so because he a sign of the Vikings recalled.
