The "Burghauner Loan Association" was founded on December 20, 1886 by 29 citizens from Burghaun , Hünhan and Gruben . The time was marked by economic hardship, unemployment and hunger. The founding members of the cooperative wanted to use the ideas of the social reformer Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen as an example, in particular to make life in the country more livable again. In 1890 the town of Rothenkirchen also became part of the Loan Association and the club district expanded. After the first four years, the loan association had 118 members.

In 2019 Raiffeisenbank Burghaun eG merged with Raiffeisenbank eG Asbach-Sorga to form Raiffeisenbank Asbach-Burghaun eG .
