Shigeo Sawairi ( Japanese 澤 入 重 雄 , Sawairi Shigeo ; born May 8, 1963 in Shizuoka Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player and coach .

Career

Sawairi learned to play soccer on the school team of Shimizu Higashi High School and the university team of Hōsei University . He signed his first contract with Toyota Motors in 1986 . The club played in the second highest league in the country, the Japan Soccer League Division 2. In 1986/87 he was runner-up in Division 2 with the club and rose to Division 1. At the end of the 1987/88 season, the club was relegated to Division 2. In 1989/90 he was runner-up in Division 2 with the club and was promoted to Division 1. With the founding of the professional league J.League in 1992 and the associated reorganization of Japanese football, Toyota Motors became Nagoya Grampus Eight . For the club he completed 95 first division games. At the end of 1995 he ended his career as a football player.
