Shin'ya Katō ( Japanese 加藤 慎 也 Katō Shin'ya ; born September 19, 1980 in Ibaraki Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Katō learned to play football in the youth team of Kashima Antlers . He signed his first contract with Kashima Antlers in 1999. The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . In 2002 he was loaned to league rivals JEF United Ichihara and Yokohama F. Marinos . In 2003 he returned to Kashima Antlers. In 2005 he moved to league rivals Kashiwa Reysol . At the end of the 2005 season, the club was relegated to the J2 League . In 2006 he was runner-up with the club in the J2 League and rose again to the J1 League. For the club, he completed three league games. In June 2009 he moved to the second division Ehime FC . He played seven league games for the club. In 2010 he moved to league competitor Ventforet Kofu . In 2011 he moved to third division AC Nagano Parceiro . At the end of 2011 he ended his career as a football player.
