Shin Matsunaga
Shin Matsunaga (born 1940 in Tokyo ) is a Japanese graphic designer.
Life
Shin Matsunaga studied at the Tokyo University of the Arts and worked in advertising for the Shiseido cosmetics company from 1964 after graduating . In 1971 he started his own advertising company. His customers include Mazda , Hankyu , Issey Miyake , the National Museum of Western Art , the Mitsubishi Tōkyō UFJ Ginkō bank , the Chuhai drink products , the Scotties paper towels and Gitanes cigarettes .
The book “Visuelle Gestaltung Japans”, designed by him in 1982, became a national bestseller. In 1996 he had a retrospective that toured Japan until 1999.
Matsunaga was shown by the Neue Sammlung in the Neues Museum Nürnberg in 2008, and an exhibition at the Museum Folkwang in Essen has been announced for 2019/20 .
