The Shiraishi Peak is a 1690 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Darwin Mountains, it rises from a striking ridge in the Meteorite Hills .
The New Zealand Geographic Board named him in 2018 after Kazuyuki Shiraishi, who was Director General of Japan's National Institute for Polar Research (NIPR) from 2011 to 2017 .
