Coordinates: 15 ° 46 ′  S , 128 ° 44 ′  E The Shire of Wyndham-East Kimberley is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of Western Australia . The area is 117,514 km² and has about 7000 inhabitants (2016).

Wyndham-East Kimberley is located in the extreme northeast of the state on the Australian north coast on the border with the Northern Territory about 2200 kilometers northeast of the capital Perth . The seat of the Shire Council is in the city of Kununurra , where about 4300 inhabitants live (2016).

The Wyndham-East Kimberley Council has nine members. They are elected by all residents of the LGA. Wyndham-East Kimberley is not subdivided into districts. The Council Chairman and Shire President are also recruited from among the Councilor.
