Shiregreen

Shiregreen is the artist name of the singer-songwriter Klaus Adamaschek (born November 4, 1957 in Gelsenkirchen ).

Life

Growing up in Gelsenkirchen in the middle of the Ruhr area , Klaus Adamaschek studied German language and literature and sports as a teacher in Aachen . Even during his studies he appeared as a German-speaking songwriter , later the first rock and folk band followed. After completing his studies, Adamaschek took a musical break of almost twenty years, during which he concentrated on his professional work. He built up the environmental education center in Licherode . In 2005 Adamaschek began making music again and has since released nine albums with self-written English and German-language songs. Today Adamaschek lives in Rotenburg an der Fulda in Hessen .

Music and lyrics

Shiregreen's music is reminiscent of songwriters from the 1970s such as Kris Kristofferson , Neil Young , Leonard Cohen or Gordon Lightfoot .

The Shiregreen song Freedom Fighter won the 2008 Comprosers 2008 global songwriting competition . After numerous concerts in Germany, Shiregreen also gave her first concerts in the USA in 2010 and toured the western USA in 2011. The concept album Trails was created as a musical travel diary on the six-month tour . Since 2015 Adamaschek has been publishing German-language songs again. In 2017 the double album "Earthbound Songs / Traumwandler" was released with a German and an English CD.
