Shon Seung-mo ( Korean 손승모 ; born July 1, 1980 ) is a former South Korean badminton player and current badminton coach .

Career

Shon played in the men's singles at the 2004 Olympics , beating Antti Viitikko from Finland and Richard Vaughan from Great Britain in the first two rounds . In the quarter-finals Shon Chen defeated Hong from the People's Republic of China with 10:15, 15: 4, 15:10. Shon made it to the semi-finals by beating Sony Dwi Kuncoro of Indonesia 15: 6, 9:15, 15: 9. In the match for the gold medal he was defeated by the Indonesian Taufik Hidayat with 15: 8, 15: 7 and received the silver medal .

Shon is partially blind after being hit in the eye by a shuttlecock in his youth.
