Sony Dwi Kuncoro (born July 7, 1984 in Surabaya ) is an Indonesian badminton player .

Career

Kuncoro played in the men's singles at the 2004 Olympics and defeated Roslin Hashim from Malaysia and Jim Ronny Andersen from Norway in the first two rounds . In the quarterfinals he defeated Park Tae-sang from South Korea with 15:13, 15: 4. Kuncoro reached the semi-finals, in which he was defeated by Shon Seung-mo from South Korea with 15: 6, 9:15, 15: 9. In the match for the bronze medal , he beat Boonsak Ponsana from Thailand with 15:11, 17:16. At the Individual World Cup 2007 he was in the final, but lost to Lin Dan from China .
