The Shupe Peak is a distinctive and 2910 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises 6 km east-southeast of The Spire in the Rampart Ridge of the Royal Society Range .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1994 after Gordon H. Shupe, a surveyor for the United States Geological Survey , who conducted three summer campaigns in Antarctica for geodetic surveys at McMurdo Station , Byrd Station and the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station and the Pine Island Bay area .
