The show jumping horse Shutterfly is a Hanoverian gelding born in 1993 and was presented under Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum .
Career
He was born on January 14, 1993 at the farm of Uwe Dresmann, from Silvio I out of a Forest xx-mother. As a five- and six-year-old horse, Carsten Raschen presented him in sport and qualified for the Bundeschampionat . At the age of six it was sold to Nancy Clark, who bought it for Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum. She discovered him in a show jumping test.
At first he was called Struwwelpeter , which he owed to his troubled mane. After the sale, its name, which is barely pronounceable for English speakers, was changed to Shutterfly . His nickname is Petey , based on his original name .
He is considered to be the most successful show jumping horse of the 2000s. With a lifetime winnings of € 3,520,864, he is the most profitable show jumping horse of all time.
At the 2004 World Cup finals in Milan, a doping test on Shutterfly revealed breakdowns of the prohibited substance acepromazine in the A and B samples , whereupon Michaels-Beerbaum was not nominated for the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. In 2008, the couple took part in the Beijing Summer Olympics.
Shutterfly won several medals at world and European championships, won the World Cup finals three times and the Aachen Grand Prix in 2005.
In 2011, on the occasion of the CHIO Aachen, he was bid farewell to thousands of spectators. A few days earlier he had won the European Prize here - at the age of 18 - with Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum .
