Abbot Siard I. Frick

Siard I. Frick (* 13. May 1679 in quantities ; † 8. February 1750 in Schussenried ) was a German Prämonstratenser and 1733-1750 Dept. of Prämonstratenserreichsabtei Schussenried in Upper Swabia .

Siard Frick entered the Premonstratensian Order on November 24, 1690 and was elected as Siard I. Frick as the 20th abbot of the monastery on January 21, 1733 in the course of the abdication of Abbot Didacus Ströbele . At the beginning of his term of office the solemn consecration of the pilgrimage church Steinhausen, built under Didacus Ströbele, took place . He led the Baroque style of the monastery church at Schussenried and planned the Baroque reconstruction of the entire monastery complex; however, his plan could only be partially realized under his successors. He was evidently also a sponsor of carnival plays with masquerade and passion plays . For example, a passion play lasting several hours is reported on in the church by fathers, brothers and students in German in 1737. And in 1743 Father Sebastian Sailer from the Obermarchtal Monastery presented his recently published story of creation about Adam and Eve in Upper Swabian dialect to many guests .

Siard I. Frick was buried in the monastery cemetery. A memorial plaque has been preserved in the former cloister.
