Sibérie m'était contéee [ sic ] or Siberie m'etait contéee [sic] ( French : "[The story of] Siberia was told to me") is the third studio album so far in Manu Chao's solo career . It was published in 2004 and for the first time for Chao it only consists of songs in French . This work is actually just a CD supplement to a socially and socially critical children's book with drawings by Jacek Woźniak and texts by Manu Chao. It was sold almost exclusively in France with very limited editions.

The songs on the album, such as Petite blonde du Boulevard Brune , are very related to Paris and life in that city. The piece Helno est mort ("Helno is dead") is again dedicated to his friend Helno (Noël Rota), the singer of Les Négresses Vertes who died of a drug overdose .
