Siddinghausen Mill
The Siddinghäuser Mühle is located in the town of Siddinghausen in the city of Büren in the Paderborn district in the east of North Rhine-Westphalia . The mill is powered by the water of the Alme river . Today electricity is generated with the help of hydropower.
history
The mill was built in 1812 as a grain mill. Due to the compulsory grinding, the Sidding houses had to bring the grain to the mill of their landlord, the Mittelmühle in Büren , and have it ground there before the mill in Siddinghausen was built . In the years leading up to its closure, the mill was structurally changed over and over again. The mill wheel was replaced by a turbine during this time. It was extensively modernized in the 1960s. In 1976 the milling operation was stopped.
