Fatoumata Kaba

Fatoumata Kaba (married Fatoumata Kaba Sidibe or in the spelling Sidibé Fatoumata Kaba ; * 1959 or 1968 ) is a Guinean diplomat and politician.

Life

Kaba holds a bachelor's degree from the Lycée Technique Ho Chi Minh in Kankan , a master's degree in economics and philosophy from the Université de Conakry and a diploma in international relations from the Institut des Relations Internationales du Cameroun (IRIC) in Yaoundé .

From 1989 to 1994 she headed the Africa department at the Guinean Foreign Ministry. From 1995 to 1997 she was head of the Africa and Asia Department and the Department of Cultural and Political Affairs. Until 2000 she was Deputy National Director for Cultural and Political Affairs in the Foreign Ministry of Guinea and then Ambassador and National Director until 2002. From 2002 to 2005, Kaba was Ambassador to Nigeria and Permanent Representative to the Economic Community of West African States .

In 2005 she was appointed foreign minister to the cabinet . In 2006 she took over the department for international cooperation, which she led until 2007. Mamady Condé succeeded her as Foreign Minister. From 2009 to 2010 Kaba was diplomatic advisor to the President of Guinea. As her country's ambassador to Ethiopia from 2013 to 2018, she was also a permanent representative to the Commission of the African Union. Also permanent representative to the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa and the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP). She also chaired the Committee of Permanent Representatives to the African Union for 2017. In July 2018, Guinea became Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
