Seventeen years, blond hair is a song by the Austrian singer Udo Jürgens from 1965 to a text by Thomas Hörbiger . Jürgens produced the song himself. The song, which has been covered repeatedly, is about a man, told from a first-person perspective, who sees a 17-year-old girl in the city center, with whom he falls in love.
The song was released by Vogue Records in Germany in 1965 as a single from his album Portrait in Musik . The song is 2:22 minutes long. In Germany the song reached number 4 and was in the charts for a total of 11 weeks. In Austria it placed 6th and stayed in the charts for 16 weeks.
In the music film of the same name by Franco Montemurro , which was released in Germany in September 1966 , Udo Jürgens sings not only this song, but also the Chanson Merci, Chérie , with which he won the Grand Prix de la Chanson in 1966.
