The settlement is a residential area in the district of Poppenhausen in the municipality of Wittighausen in the Main-Tauber district in the Franconian north-east of Baden-Württemberg .

The settlement is located about one kilometer north of the Wittighauser district of Poppenhausen. Other places in the area are Krensheim after about four kilometers in the west, Ilmspan after about four kilometers in the northwest and Oberwittighausen after about three kilometers in the southeast.
history
The settlement was part of the formerly independent municipality of Poppenhausen on January 1, 1972, to the municipality of Wittighausen.

The settlement can be reached via a farm road branching off from the K 2882 in an easterly direction. In addition, a path that branches off from the Poppenhausen district in a northerly direction leads to the residential area where the settlement street of the same name is located.
