Siegbert ramp

Siegbert Rampe (born February 9, 1964 in Pforzheim ) is a German harpsichordist , organist , pianist , conductor, teacher and musicologist.

Life

Rampe studied harpsichord, organ, fortepiano and composition in Stuttgart, Amsterdam and Salzburg. His teachers were Kenneth Gilbert , Ton Koopman , Ludger Lohmann and Helmut Lachenmann .

In 1988 he founded the baroque orchestra Nova Stravaganza, initially under the name La Stravaganza Hamburg. As a soloist and together with this orchestra worldwide concerts and more than 80 CDs, which are regularly awarded, four times with the Echo Klassik alone. From 1997 to 2004 he taught as professor harpsichord and fortepiano at the Folkwang University in Essen , from 2000 to 2003 at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and from 2005 to 2012 as professor for historical keyboard instruments at Arizona State University (USA). For family reasons, Rampe retired from college in America in 2007.

He has been a music teacher at various schools since 2007, and has been teaching music at the private general education school in Großkorbetha since January 7, 2020 .

As a musicologist , Rampe published several hundred writings on the history of music as well as the instruments and historical performance practice of music from the 15th to 19th centuries, including numerous books and around 40 volumes of complete scholarly editions with older keyboard music from Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart , as well as some biographies .
