Siegfried Friese

Siegfried Friese (born September 2, 1943 in Prenzlau ) is a German politician ( SPD ). He is Catholic, married and has two children.

Friese attended middle school in Prenzlau, successfully completed his apprenticeship as a dental technician and graduated from the adult education center. He studied theater and film studies at the Leipzig Theater School and the Film and Television University in Potsdam-Babelsberg and graduated in 1971 as a dramaturge and film scholar. He then worked as a dramaturge at the German TV broadcaster , from 1973 to 1990 he was a research assistant and deputy head of department in the Ministry of Culture , film department, member of the association of film and television professionals .

Friese became a member of the SPD in 1990. There he was chairman of the district association Wismar , then of the sub-district of Northwest Mecklenburg and chairman of the party council of the SPD in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. In 1994 he became honorary mayor of the Bad Kleinen community , and in 1999 he also became head of the Bad Kleinen office . Friese was a member of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania state parliament from 1990 to 2006 . There he was cultural and media policy spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group as well as chairman of the interior committee and member of the parliamentary control commission.
