Siegfried Malyska (born June 11, 1956 ) is a former German soccer player who played for the BSG Stahl Brandenburg in the GDR Oberliga .

Athletic career

Malyska joined the student team of BSG Stahl Brandenburg in 1970 at the age of 14. There he went through all the youth teams until he was drafted into military service in November 1975. In the summer of 1977 Malyska returned to Stahl Brandenburg, where he played for the next few seasons as a striker of the first team in the second-rate GDR league . In the 1978/79 season he was Brandenburg's top scorer with ten league goals. In 1983, Stahl Brandenburg was the league relay winner for the first time before promotion to the GDR Oberliga, but failed in the promotion round. Malyska played seven of the eight qualifying games for Brandenburg, but only as a substitute. In the 1983/84 season Stahl Brandenburg was more successful. The team was again the season winner, to which Malyska had contributed with twelve missions and one goal. In the eight promotion games Malyska was there twice, once as a substitute, once for the full duration of the game.

What had already become apparent in the promotion season continued in the first league season of BSG Stahl: Malyska was only a substitute in the squad of the league team. Therefore, he was only used in the seventh league game, in the 74th minute of the encounter between BFC Dynamo and BSG Stahl (2-0). In the further course of the season, Malyska was only a substitute except for one game. Only on matchday 13 ( BSG Stahl Riesa - BSG Stahl Brandenburg 2: 2) did he stand as a left midfielder for 90 minutes. In total, he played nine point games in the league without scoring a goal.

For the 1985/86 season, Malyska moved to BSG Chemie in nearby Premnitz . There he played in the third-class district league Potsdam and did not return to higher-class football.
