Siegfried Rabow

Siegfried Rabow (born March 31, 1848 in Karthaus ( West Prussia ), † June 19, 1931 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German psychiatrist .

Siegfried Rabow, son of a businessman, studied medicine in Berlin and Königsberg. From 1871 to 1874 he was an assistant doctor in Königsberg and Strasbourg, and in 1872 he received his doctorate. This was followed by training as a specialist in psychiatry in Berlin and Göttingen and from 1877 to 1879 at the Cery sanatorium (municipality of Prilly ). From 1879 he lived in Germany as a psychiatrist and undertook pharmacological research. From 1889 he worked as a doctor and from 1896 to 1898 as head of the sanatorium and nursing home of Cery. From 1890 he taught at the University of Lausanne , from 1890 to 1899 as associate professor for psychiatry, from 1899 to 1902 as full professor for therapeutic treatment and pharmacy. From 1916 to 1921 he lived in Bern , from 1922 he retired in Freiburg and lived there at Schiffstraße 3 and later at Rottecksplatz 9.

From 1887 to 1909 he was co-editor of the magazine Therapeutische Monatshefte . In 1897 he published the handbook of drug theory together with Louis Bourget .
