Siegmund Vieheuser

Siegmund Vieheuser (also Viehauser , Viehäuser ) (* around 1545 in Landau ; † April 23, 1587 in Oberlauterbach ) was Vice Chancellor of the Holy Roman Empire .

Life

Viehauser came from a bourgeois family from Landau. From 1552 he studied law in Ingolstadt and Freiburg im Breisgau . In 1560 he made his doctorate.

Between 1561 and 1566 he was Councilor of the Duchy of Bavaria . He also represented the country at the Council of Trent . From 1567 he was assessor at the Reich Chamber of Commerce as a representative of the Bavarian district . In 1572 he became Reichshofrat and in 1576 secret Imperial Councilor. From 1576 to 1586 he was Reich Vice Chancellor.

In the 1580s he acquired the moated castle Oberlauterbach , where he died in 1587.
