Siegmund von der Marwitz

Siegmund von der Marwitz (* around 1586 ; † 1660 ) was a Brandenburg court official.

Life

Marwitz was the son of Peter von der Marwitz and his wife Anna von Sack. In 1602 Marwitz enrolled at the University of Frankfurt / Oder .

With effect from July 2, 1608, Marwitz was enfeoffed with the village of Peine by Duke Philip II of Pomerania .

From 1614 Marwitz was in the service of Margrave Christian Wilhelm von Brandenburg as hunter master .

In 1621, Prince Ludwig I of Anhalt-Köthen accepted Marwitz into the Fruit-Bringing Society . The prince gave Marwitz the company name of the attractant and as a motto for birding . A mountain ash tree with its little beers , i.e. the mountain ash ( Sorbus aucuparia ), was given to him as an emblem. Marwitz's entry can be found in the Koethen Society Register under no.39.

In 1660 the hunter Siegmund von der Marwitz died.
