The Siemens SC-44 Charger is a diesel-electric locomotive from the manufacturer Siemens, which is produced in the United States ( Sacramento ) for the North American market. The model is derived from the European Siemens Vectron base, as is the Siemens Amtrak Cities Sprinter electric locomotive .
The variant SCB-40 was developed for Brightline , where two locomotives always run in a push-pull train . The same type of engine has an output of 400 HP (300 kW) less.
