Siemienski-Lewicki is the name of an originally from Mazovia coming, then to the Galician and Austrian count conditions and finally to the Austrian nobility belonging noble family .

history

The headquarters were in Sławczyn near Radom . There the family documented in 1580.

Wilhelm, Starost von Biecz , formerly a Polish major general , received the Galician count in 1779 from Empress Maria Theresa with the title “von Biecz”. In 1781 he was given the status of Austrian count from Emperor Joseph II.

An important representative of the family was Count Wilhelm Siemieński-Lewicki auf Biecz (1827-1901), who was a member of the Galician state parliament . Together with Count Potocki , he was also an investor in the Lemberg (Kleparów) –Jaworów local railway at the end of the 19th century. He was married to Sophie Countess Lewicka, the last of her tribe, and in 1869 the Austrian Emperor approved the name union of both families.

The coat of arms is the family coat of arms of Dąbrowa.

As one of 64 counts, the family had a hereditary seat in the manor house , the upper house of the Austrian Imperial Council, and thus belonged to the high nobility of the Austrian Imperial Council since it was bestowed on Wilhelm's son, the imperial-royal chamberlain Stanislaus Count Sławczyn-Siemieński-Lewicki Empire.

Possessions

The family owned extensive estates in Galicia. The Palais Siemieński-Lewicki in Lemberg was one of the residences .
