Sigrid Rausing (born January 29, 1962 in Lund ) is a Swedish anthropologist, publisher, philanthropist and author.

Life

Sigrid Maria Elisabet Rausing is a daughter of Hans Rausing and his wife Märit, née Norrby. Her siblings are Lisbet and Hans Kristian , all three are grandsons of Tetra Pak founder Ruben Rausing .

She studied history at the University of York from 1983 to 1986 and took her master's degree in social anthropology at the University College of London in 1987 . In 1995 she founded the Sigrid Rausing Foundation . In spring 2005 she founded the literary journal Granta and the publishing house of the same name with her husband Eric Abraham , film and television producer, and the publisher Philip Gwyn-Jones .

Sigrid Rausing lives in London and is the founder of a humanitarian foundation, the Sigrid Rausing Trust .
