Anders Ruben Rausing ( pronunciation : [ ˌʁʉːbən ˈʁɑu̯siŋ ], born June 17, 1895 in Råå, Raus municipality near Helsingborg ; † August 10, 1983 ) was a Swedish economist and major entrepreneur. He was the inventor and marketer of the packaging idea, which became known worldwide as Tetra Pak .

In 1920 he made his Masters of Science from Columbia University . In 1929, together with Erik Åkerlund, he founded the first packaging company in Scandinavia , Åkerlund & Rausing .

His wife is said to have given him the idea of ​​inventing new packaging when she was making sausage and filling the sausage meat into the skin . In 1943, after many attempts, the young chemist Erik Wallenberg , the engineer Harry Järund and the sales manager Erik Torudd succeeded in developing the Tetra Pak, a completely new packaging for milk.

In 1951 he founded Tetra Pak AB in Lund together with Erik Wallenberg as a subsidiary of Åkerlund & Rausing. The first filling line was delivered to a dairy in Lund in 1952, which was used to fill cream.

He was the father of Hans (1926–2019) and Gad Rausing (1922–2000).
