Sigvart Dagsland (born October 18, 1963 in Stavanger ) is a Norwegian pop rock singer , pianist and composer.

Dagsland has been playing the piano since he was seven and sang in the Stavanger Cathedral Choir and in the Stavangerskolene Choir. In 1980 he founded his first band Tor og Liv . In 1982 he made his television debut alongside Ove Thue , Susanne Fuhr and Gudny Aspaas with the musical Dans Med Oss Gud . In 1985 Joker was released , the first of Bangs 14 solo albums.

Since 1987 he has worked in a duo with Iver Kleive . In 1991 he received the first of three nominations for the Spellemann Prize for the album Alt eg såg . In 1995 his most successful album to date was released, Det er makt i de folded hender , on which Terje Rypdal , Iver Kleive and Ole Edvard Antonsen took part. The following year a live recording with the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra was released . Fri (1998) was the first album on which Bang only interpreted his own lyrics and melodies.

In 2001 Dagsland released his first English-language album Soul Ballads with guitarist George Wadenius , for which he wrote the lyrics together with Mike McGurk . In 2002 he worked on the Christmas album De Skjedde I De Dager with the Oslo Gospel Choir and Princess Märtha Louise of Norway , which was sold 120,000 times in Norway alone.

On the album Underlig Frihet Dagsland sang duets with Karoline Krüger (his wife), Jan Toft and Solveig Slettahjell . For his 20th anniversary as a record artist, he gave three concerts in Stavanger, Oslo and Bergen. a. Karoline Krüger, Terje Rypdal, Maria Arredondo , Bjørn Eidsvåg , Erik Hillestad and Gunnar Roalkvam were guests.
