Iver Kleive (born May 25, 1949 in Skien ) is a Norwegian organist, pianist and composer.

Kleive passed the cantor examination at the Oslo Conservatory in 1972 and studied organ at the State University of Music in Munich from 1973 to 1976 . He then worked as an organist at various churches, since 1987 at the Helgerud Kirke in Bærum .

Kleive made his debut as a concert organist in Oslo in 1987. He has performed at numerous organ festivals and as a soloist with the Kringkastingsorkesteret , the Stavanger Symfoniorkester and the Trondheim Symfoniorkester . In 1992 he toured Great Britain as a synthesizer player with the Oslo Filharmoniske Orkester under Mariss Jansons .

After Kleive had already gained experience with choral music during his studies as a singer in the Munich Bach Choir under Karl Richter , he founded the Oslo Bach-kor in 1988 , which he has directed ever since.

In addition to his work as a classical musician, Kleive is also active in the field of jazz and folk music. Since 1972 he has been involved in over 200 recordings as a studio musician, arranger or composer. He was the sideman of musicians such as Arve Tellefsen , Karin Krog , Jan Garbarek and Terje Rypdal , toured the USA in 1990 with Ole Edvard Antonsen , played with Bjørn Eidsvåg in Moscow, with the Ytre Suløens Jassensemble in New Orleans and with Sigmund Groven in Scotland , the United States and the Caribbean. He toured India, Pakistan and South Africa with Knut Reiersrud .

In 1992 he received the Spellemann Prize for the album Blå Koral with Knut Reiersrud . In 1995 he released Kyrie , his first CD with his own compositions. In 1995 his Juleevangeliet was premiered with the Oslo Bach Choir and the soloists Paolo Vinaccia , Jon Eikemo , Anne Gravir and Ronnie Johansen .

2007 completed Kleive his Requiem for choir, soloists and organ, which he in the same year in Ljubljana as an organist with the Oslo Bach Choir, the Chamber Choir Mimas Tromso, the choir APZ Tone Tomsic from Ljubljana and soloists Marianne E. Andersen and Trond Hallstein Moe recorded . In 2008 he played the organ music for the Norwegian feature film Troubled Water .
