Sila ( Arabic سيلا, DMG Sīlā ) is a border town at the western end of the Emirates Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is located 370 km west of the city of Abu Dhabi on the coast. The actual border with Qatar is 20–30 km further west; the strip of land was ceded to Saudi Arabia . Therefore, a transit visa for Saudi Arabia is required when traveling overland from Qatar and UAE .

The urban area extends to the border with Saudi Arabia in the west and also includes the border town of Ghuwaifat and extends over an area of ​​408 km². At the 2005 census, Sila had 7,900 inhabitants.
