The Silbergasse ( Italian Via Argentieri ) is one of the oldest streets in the city of Bolzano .

The slightly curved street with its representative house front forms the back of the Laubengasse . At the west end it joins the southern section of the Obstplatz , at the east end it merges into the Kornplatz .

The Silbergasse was created on the southern city moat , which was filled in in the 13th century , and was originally only called on the vndern graben ze Pötczen (1433), on the old moat (1490) or Hindergasse from the old statgraben (1540). However, as early as the late 14th century, a building was called the Silberhaus (Silbergasse 32), from which the name so-called Silbergasse , which was first attested in the urban land register of 1765, is derived.

The buildings on the north side of the street, which also form the back of the southern arbor, belonged to the earlier 5th and 6th quarters, documented since the late 15th century, the buildings on the south side of the street, which also form the back of Mustergasse, belonged to the 7th Quarter. With the little footbridge , one of the former passages from the arbors to the Silbergasse between 5. u. 6th quarter already mentioned in a document in 1335.

In the northern line of the Silbergasse are the late Renaissance Troyburg , which was built in the 16th and 17th centuries. Century belonged to the noble Troilo family, and the mercantile magistrate from the 17th century two historically particularly important buildings.

The art space spazio Eccel Kreuzer has been set up in the through-house Silbergasse 10–12 / Lauben 45 since 2019 , with which a bourgeois art collection from the 19th and 20th centuries was made publicly accessible thanks to a private foundation.

The Silbergasse is part of Bolzano's pedestrian zone , but can be used by bicycles in both directions and by taxis and (at certain times) suppliers and residents to the west.
