The Silbersee is a still water in a former gravel pit on the left side of the Rhine and east of the federal highway 57 between Neuss and Dormagen . It is popular with anglers. There is contaminated by arsenic . The area around the Silbersee is important for the commercial development of Dormagen, to the northwest is the aluminum smelter of Norsk Hydro .
