Silja Dögg Gunnarsdóttir (born December 16, 1973 in Reykjavík ) is an Icelandic politician ( Progress Party ).

Silja Dögg holds a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Iceland (2001). She worked as a police officer and journalist . From 2008 to 2013 she worked as an assistant director at the Icelandic energy supplier HS Orka , where she also managed the records management .

Since the Icelandic parliamentary election on April 27, 2013 , Silja Dögg has been a member of the Icelandic parliament Althing for the southern constituency . From 2013 to 2015 she was second in the Vice-Presidency of Parliament ( 2nd varaforseti ). She was re-elected in the early parliamentary election on October 29, 2016 .
