Silke Engler (director)

Silke Christina Engler (* 1976 in Aachen ) is a German film director , screenwriter and film producer .

Life

From 1995 to 2000 , Silke Christina Engler studied theater, film and television studies and English at the University of Leipzig and at the Ruhr University in Bochum .

Since 1998 she has worked as a script supervisor and assistant director (among others for Margarethe von Trotta , Georg Maas , Jan Schomburg ). From 2010 to 2015 Engler completed the Audiovisual Media course at the Art Academy for Media in Cologne . In 2019 she shot her feature film debut Sunny together with the German cinematographer Julia Baumann .
