Silke Schindler (* 26. April 1962 in Wurzen ) is a German SPD - politician and since 2006 Member of the Landtag of Saxony-Anhalt .

Life and work

After graduating from high school in 1980, she studied mechanical engineering and graduated with a degree in engineering. From 1985 to 1989 Schindler worked as a project engineer at SKL Magdeburg . From 1989 to 1990 she worked as a main energy specialist in the health sector in the Wanzleben district . Afterwards she was head of department / department head in the district administration of Wanzleben until 1994. Schindler has been an administrative specialist since 1998. She is married and has two daughters.

Political party

In 1990 she joined the SPD. From 1996 she was deputy SPD district chairman in the Bördekreis . After the merger of the district associations in 2006, she was chairwoman of the Börde district association until 2014 . From 2002 to 2016 Schindler was a member of the state executive committee of the SPD Saxony-Anhalt .

Political offices and mandates

From 1990 to 1994 Schindler was a member of the Wanzleben City Council , which she chaired from 1991 to 1994. She was mayor of Wanzleben from 1994 until her election to the state parliament in 2006.

Schindler has been a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt since 2006. In 2006 , 2011 and 2016 it moved into parliament via the SPD's state list. Here she was initially secretary and member of the Committee on Food, Agriculture and Forestry and the Committee on Home Affairs. In the 7th electoral term (from 2016) she is deputy parliamentary group leader and spokeswoman for local politics, justice and energy of the SPD parliamentary group as well as a member of the committee for home affairs and sport, the committee for law, constitution and equality, the electoral review committee and the committee for the environment and energy.
